Thank you for offering some of these great ideas. I have also found a series of books called "Summer Bridge Activities for young Christians" to be helpful. It is two pages of academics a day that incorporates reading, writing, math, language arts, and Christian values all in one. The parent and child set goals for the month and also choose a reward if you meet those goals. This helps keep the child on target so they will get to do the fun activity at the end of the month.
We have also done things like set up a tent in the back yard. This has become the alternative summer classroom. They like camping out, staying up late , and reading by booklight in the tent.
Thanks for all the wonderful info and encouragement that you give us!

This is great I pray that alot more parents will homeschool their children and not be endoctrinated by the government schools which they should have never gotten their claws into in the first place. To all the parents who do homeschool GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILIES.
