All eyes turn toward the bride. Her eyes demure down. Each saton covered foot curves in front of the other. She dare not peek at her groom now. She might tremble into a giggle, and not complete her task. Seven times she must walk around her love. Seven times the blessing, sheva b'rakot, is to be proclaimed. She must ignore the blush creaming into her cheek. And walk without ceasing.
After years of love and marriage, she thinks back to that day. She allows herself a giggle now, as she reminisces. She came with her own will, and with each step she had laid it down. To take up the will of another, her walls of fear and self brought low. A story comes to mind...
King James Version (KJV)
30 By faith the walls of Jericho fell down, after they were compassed about seven days.
Seven times stands for completion. We bring our faith, He brings our Salvation. Not our will, but His Will!
Today we bring just our faith to You Oh Lord. We receive your Shalom, completeness in You! No enemies can touch us when You go before us! Blessed is He who comes in the Name of the Lord!
