Providing Resources to Equip and Inspire your Home School

Good morning.

I ended up having to break from my plan to blog every day because I got a double-nug (God + husband) that I should at least take a temporay break from doing "all" my internet at night... so for the time being I am not using the internet unless hubby isn't home and kids are asleep.

So, how is that the case at 7:30 in the morning you may ask (that's what time it is right now).

Well, God is working in some amazing ways in this house and both my husband and I, neither of us being morning people, were up before 6am and my husband was out the door to work before 7am. Then we factor in the detail that last night was an unusually late night and so the kids are still catching up on their sleep (my daughter is the only morning person in the house and doesn't often sleep until 7).

I've been enjoying some very on-task days. At the same time I am enjoying the sense of doing what I ought to be, I am also growing in awareness that the magic fix is not merely me doing what I ought to be - there actually just aren't enough hours in the day!

Yesterday we worked really hard to fit in what we got in: doing both morning and afternoon jobs, literature (aka, reading), working in Critical Thinking books (The Critical Thinking Co. - one of my favorites), a trip to the library, an Uno competition, and then we (kids and mom) went to church in the evening (normally, I go to help teach in one of the children's classes while my husband stays home to do regular bedtime with the kids... but last night he ended up needing to work late).

I am not someone with a long history or exercising, but I've just been establishing the habit... and yesterday was the first day when I sincerely wanted to get on the elliptical but it just never happened despite my repeated re-strategizing to fit it in.

But this morning I started the day on the elliptical and, having determined that I don't want to be hidden away in the shower when the kids wake up, I'm using this as my internet time.

There you go.

:)
