The air was damp to her skin in this early hour. Her alarm had sung sweet with melodies of praise just moments ago. She allowed herself a peek, as the sun finished its ascent over the horizon. Entering back inside, she flipped the light. The coffee maker had just finished its course, with its last welcoming sounds of drip, drip. She felt her Bible and smiled. She Opened the Word to its silken ribbon, bookmarked to the next chapter in her yearly reading cycle. She thought to herself, today was going to be a good day.
Her days were not always like this. There was a time that her alarm seemed to scream at her- Awake! She would tremble a moment, and decide in her heart to ignore its call, and just roll over. Her sleep was never good after that. Her days a mix frustration and rush. The Word a goal, that would often become afterthought.
Too many days without God's peace. One day, she chose to rise with the alarm sound. She chose to slip to her knees at the call to prayer. She started reading in Genesis 1, each day learning of the Law of the Lord, until she reached today Passage...
