I tried not being so uptight about it! =) We have been doing shorter sessions and I let him read a sentence and then do 10 laps around the room or something. He thinks of it as a reward and actually is excited to do his reading now. Thank you for posting your question. It sounds like my Luke and your 5 year old are very similar. =) Have a great week.
