We are experiencing some very serious storms across the Southeast.
Here in Alabama there are 40 confirmed dead. Three of the families in our church have lost their homes, but they are safe, Praise God!

We can support AFA by purchasing ad space for our businesses and by patronizing those businesses which have already done so (when we are financially able).

Okay, so I was looking into buying a membership at our local zoo and children's science museum (we live in AL). I was rather appaled to find out that when a family has more than four children, the zoo requires an additional $20 on top of the base $99 membership fee. The science museum covers a family with up to six children for $90, but it's not clear what you have to do if your family has seven or more.

I am by no means a whiz at spelling or composition, but something that strikes me (okay, it really bothers me) is how some of my fellow homeschoolers spell grammar "grammer". But it occured to me, maybe there is something I'm missing.
Here's the deal: the word "grammar" is a modification of Latin grammatica, which in turn comes from the Greek grammatikē. By the time this word reached Modern English, it was not spelled with…

Lorene M. Peetz said… - This is definitely one of my 'pet peeves'...Spelling and Grammar. Words are important! We serv eht living God who tells us He is the Word! Wasn't the problem in Eden that of twisting God's Words? I think it is important to represent the Lord accurately by being excellent in our speech and writing. Of course we must rely upon His strength to do this! Thanks for bringing up this topic!
