Confusion...

My son is in 7th grade and my daughter is in 5th grade. While in public school (5th and 3rd grades), they excelled in all their subjects. Last year, we did K12 for the first semester. During that time, both of my children struggled in math, especially my son. He took the Iowa test and it showed that he didn't have a good understanding of basic operations. So, we've gone back to the basics with both of them. Now, I'm confused about where I should go from here. Both of my children suffer from…See More

"You made the right choice. The school system is a failing system, churning out half illiterate people. If you focus on math, reading, and writing, your children can learn all the rest at their own pace. For example, we sometimes do a whole year of…"

From Public School To Homeschool To What?

Posted on January 27, 2012 at 8:30am 13 Comments

Last summer, we made the decision to pull our kids out of public school and homeschool them. Being home with them, teaching them, getting to know them has been amazing! The curriculum we are using is through a state-funded virtual charter school. They have written assignments, lessons online, and essays and projects that are turned into their teacher. They have Class Connect sessions where they get to hear the teacher teaching, watch her write on the…

Is it God's will to heal?

Posted on January 21, 2012 at 2:00pm 0 Comments

I was laying in bed this morning thinking about healing. I have family members and friends who are believing for their healing. Their struggles make me think about healing a lot.
