Hi! This is my third year doing this, I live in Statesboro, would appreciate advice on testing a 15yr old with special needs. (a boy).  Would love to chat with others homeschooling, esp those with special needs.

"I am new to this, I homeschool a 15 year old boy with fragile x and autistic tendecies. I would appreciate some advice on testing, I have to do it at the end of this year and need to know what kind of test to use."

Charlotte, I am new to the group...even though you wrote your post a couple of months ago, I just now read it. Did anyone ever give you any advice on testing for your son? I taught in special ed. for 17 years before coming home to home school. I am now an educational consultant for families of children that have special needs. When doing yearly evaluations I use the Brigance CIBS-R (Comprehensive Inventory of Basic Skills-Revised) It is a wonderful diagnostic test for readiness skills through 8-9th grade. Children that are older but with significant delays can also use this test. Are you a member of HSLDA? I'm pretty sure you can "rent" the test materials from them. I hope this is of some help.
