Comment by Beecher Proch on October 19, 2011 at 3:05pm Hello all,
Just wante to let you know that I've started a new group called "Lamplighter Guild". If you or anyone you know is interested in the dramatic or visual arts, this group is for you! This past Summer, the first annual Lamplighter Guild was held at Mohonk Mountain house in New Paltz, New York. It was a life changing experience for all involved. A long time dream of Mark Hamby (president of Lamplighter ministries), the Guild brought together master teachers (the creative minds behind Adventures in Odyssey, Les Miserable, Left Behind, The Chronicles of Narnia, and lamplighter Theatre to name a few) and students to train up the next generation of culture changers. The presence of God was strongly felt by all. More about The lamplighter Guild on the Group page. Their will also be news and updates about the 2012 Guild!
Comment by Patricia Busan Errickson on August 26, 2011 at 12:10pm Thanks Andora. Kind of excited about this move, I already started the kids doing placement tests and pretests and so far so good. The kids are as excited as I am.
Hi Patricia,
Welcome. I'm Andora and we live about an hour southwest of Tyler. We have homeschooled for 4 years now- where does the time go?? Anyway, there are wonderful homeschooling families in the Tyer and surrounding areas. I will try to find the contact information and send it for you. Peace to you !
Comment by Patricia Busan Errickson on August 24, 2011 at 8:48pm Hi:
We are moving to Tyler, TX area next week from Wi. This is my first time homeschooling. We have four grown children and in 2010 adopted a brother and sister who are now 10 and 11. I did some placement tests and even though my daughter is supposed to be going into sixth, she did poorly on the 4th grade language arts. My son is still reading at first grade level despite being promoted into 4th grade. So I'm planning on starting both at the levels they didn't pass and go from there. Hoping to connect with other homeschoolers. We are ministers and currently waiting for our next assignment from God.
