Hi Our name is James and Stephanie Fairchild. We live in Raeford NC about 30 min from Fayetteville. We moved here from Ohio alittle over a year ago to work on a hundre acre farm. We are from the Plain People Community(in Ohio we were Beachy Amish- here we are Amish-Mennonite) there is only one other Plain family in our area and we go to their home for church.  We have 2 children our 7 year old is Alexander(he is on the low end of Autism spectrum-ADHD) our 5 year old is Laura(learning dissabilities-ADHD). We are beginning our 3rd year of homeschooling. We are repeating 1st grade for Alex and Laura does the same stuff as her brother, the both do a preschool book for colors as they struggle with that.  We don't do kindergarten.  We use 2 programs we are part of Advanced Training Institute(ATI) and we use Rod and Staff(made for Amish and Mennonite schools-but great for anyone).

Good evening to all who read this.  I have been dipping my feet into the "home school pool" for the past two years when my sons were 3 and 4 and they are now 4 and 5 (soon to be 6).  I also now have a 8 month old daughter who will sit in on classes so she can get used to the set up and so that she can have full advantage of our lessons.  I have high aspirations for my children, so i am open to any helpful suggestions, direction, advice or (loving) criticism.  I am still kind of finding my way on faith, so there is a lot of information that i need and i am sure, more that I don't even know that I don't know!  Thank you for reading this and I hope that God will lead us to one another so that we can help each other.  I love you!  God bless you!  Have a wonderful day!!

Hi, I'm Susan Jones and I live in LA. That's Lower Archdale for anyone who lives in the triad area. I plan to start homeschooling my son and my grand daughter in the fall. They are 12 and 7. This is a big leap of faith for me because I am a very UNorganized person. My mother is excited and is a retired English lit teacher. She should be a big help. I am an ER nurse and have 4 days a week off. Can't wait to find out more about everyone here. Mom and my hubby are going to the homeschool conference coming up this month in Winston-Salem. Anyone else going?

Hello all! My name is Heather and I live in Salisbury. This is my 1st year homeschooling. I have 3 children, ages 7, 4, and 8 months. I am homeschool 2 of them....2nd grade and Pre-K. This has been a great experience so far other than trying to learn everything that I need to know...ha ha. Any insight or advice from you "veteran" homeschoolers would be great!

Greetings - We are in Midway Park - in our 5th year of Homeschooling teenage son. Am blessed to be able to continue with the economy. We've mostly used Sonlight. Received notice from state that I will be audited this year. Not too worried - have all paperwork and the backing of HSLDA. Blessings to all who read this.

Howdy everyone! We are in Hendersonville NC and homeschooling three middle schoolers... our first year of homeschool. We are excited and nervous all at once! We also have some toddlers so any advice on keeping them busy whilst we get our homeschooling done is appreciate as well as anything else you can teach us. Thanks and God bless,
The Youngs
