Spent that day at the Apple Harvest Festival.  Besides the italian sausage sandwiches, pumpkin funnel cakes, pony rides, tractor dancing, chainsaw carving, and balloon animals, we came home with 2 bushels of Ida Red apples and 2 gallons of cider.  We are now making apple butter, apple sauce, and canning the rest.  I love Fall.

Is anyone familiar with Country Living Hand Grain Mill?

I dont think its going to be so entertaining when things get worse off. They won't think these folks are so odd then. They will be knocking on there door for food.

I also thought it was quite interesting that the commercial before the vid was for a casino.

You know what's ironic about that, Sheila? When I clicked on the link, the commercial preceding the clip was for a casino.  Hmm, do I want to spend my money on slots and dice,  or preparing my pantry for hard times? I guess you could view that either way is a gamble.  I may never need the supplies I stockpile.  But given the last 2 weeks with our gov't and economy, I will definitely place my bet on canned goods and biblical principles!! :)

Thanks for sharing that link. I wish I had cable to view the episode!

Blessings,

Hillary

Sasha, I'm in the lex area. I can't find the thread to post my response.  If you get this, please contact me!  I'd be happy to share with you what I know and where to find it. Thanks!

To Sasha Sullivan.  We buy our Winter Red Wheat from bread Beckers in the 6 gal. bucket.

However shipping can get expensive unless you join a Bread Beckers co-op in your area.  We have done that, and our shipping is $5.00.  If there is no co-op in your area, consider starting one.  I believe it is a way to make a little extra cash.
