Hello everyone.  I'm hoping to find other families  or co-ops/groups in the Pierce Co. area. I have 3 children. 15dd who was previously public schooled until 7th grade.  An11dd and10ds who are currently in  public school, but will be homeschooled next year.  We really need to connect with other families who homeschool.  My 11dd who is very social is resisting the idea of homeschool because she is afraid of being isolated.  Does anyone else struggle with this?  Thanks alot.

Hello, everyone. I am Kim, a mom of 4 kids, ages 22-10. I have been homeschooling since 1992, when it wasn't very popular. I have seen homeschooling change over the years, some for the better, some not. I agree whole heartedly with Wendy's comments. You go, girl. By the way, I live in a small town in middle of nowhere called Omega, GA. Just wanted to say hi.

Thank you Jennifer, that would be great. We have gone into Savannah quite a bit and it really is not far from us. I am excited about being able to incorporate all the history here into our homeschooling.

Emily, something else to think about is Boyscouts. Liberty I believe is a big boyscout troop. Go to bsasavannah.org for your local scouting news and for your area. Let me know if I can help you with that as well. Will be more than glad too!

Hey Emily! I am in Vidalia which is an hour north of you. I am not sure if Hinesville is big in homeschooling but what I hear is Savannah has a good group of homeschoolers. You are not far from Savannah at all get on 95 and go up about 25 min. or less. I might can get you a contact number there if you are interested in that area.

Hello everyone. I am Emily, mom to a 12 yr old boy and 4 yr old girl. I h/s'd my son prior to moving to Georgia in Jan. When we got here we put him into public school to try it out for the rest of the year. He is doing well but doesn't feel he is getting the education he did while being h/s'd. I am on the fence as to what to do for next year. I haven't found a whole lot of info on h/sing in my area. We are in Liberty County. Does anyone know my options for h/sing programs here?
Thank you,

Emily

Hi Everyone,
I'm Wendy with 4 incredible kids and only have two more to get through high school! I have been homeschooling for many years. Homeschool, then private Christian school to public and now home again. Final is homeschooling. It is imperative today to give your child the proper views of the world. I believe that it isour duty to provide for our children to teach them in the wqays of the Lord so while they grow they will not depart from it. It is funny to me to see people call themselves "Christian" and then pack the kids off for a public education" teaching them the oppossite of Christianity! Sometimes the claims are " I can't afford it" while driving fancy cars or living in fancy home with fancy furniture, poolsin the backyard etc. It is all in our priorities. Sometimes it is the sacrifice we must pay to make sure we are bringing up a childin the way he should go! When we have a system and views being taught that are contrary to God's teaching and we then ask what is wrong with our schools, government, churches etc we should take a look at the fundamentals of the teaching! We have to hold ourselves accountable. It is funny how people gripe about the things in this world and wonder why they have gotten to this point! Let's help wake up the parents of America and change the education system and encourage others to do the right thing. We as parents will have to live with the decisions of our youth! It is already happening and it is sad!

Hi everyone, I'm April, mom to two incredible kids. We are a christian family living in Roswell, GA and have been homeschooling for 6 years and love it. My kids are 4th and 6th grade and have excelled through homeschooling. We love homeschooling because it has allowed us the freedom to travel and see so much of this great country. We currently use SOS curriculum, Bob Jones Science, and various resources I surprise them with regularly. We love learning and reading at our house.
