Im working on a large quilt, the colors are brown pink and white, and im using solids and polka dots. Will post pictures soon!

My daughters are in gymnastics.  I like that they have covers over their leotards when they are in route to and from gymnastics.  Any shorts will do.  On one occasion my youngest daughter was instructed to have black shorts for an event.  We were not able to find any in her size that worked perfectly as athletic shorts.  So, we went to Wal-Mart and picked up an inexpensive pair of black sweats.

I cut them:

pinned them and sewed them:

And this is how they turned out:

 

Additionally, if your kids are dressing up for Halloween (Harvest Festival or the like) this inexpensive trick may help you out as you plan their costumes.

sorry guys...I have been out and getting some medical testing done.  Haven't felt well.  But I hope to be at my sewing machine tomorrow.  I did finish the piece that I pictured for autumn.  It turned out ok but not like I thought it would.  I am making an autumn placemat right now that has a pocket on the side to hold the napkin and silverware.  Found it in the McCalls Quilting magazine.  What is everyone else working on?  Any Christmas projects started?

Heather we do those too.  This is a piece I will be putting together tomorrow for our Autumn theme on the table.  Need to find some appliques now to fill it up.  First rag quilt for me.  My 11yo is getting a sewing machine tomorrow so I hope she picks up on it quickly

I started my 11 year old on latch hooking last month.  She hasn't worked on it much though.

I am currently working on a latch hook rug for my kitchen.  I have been working on it for 2 years now, LOL. Crochet is my fav and I keep leaving the rug to work on other thing.  I have a bed doll crochet project that I am working on and will be starting some small afghans for a friend. Love to stay busy :-)
