Comment by Vickie Apple on August 20, 2012 at 4:25pm LAST Friday was the deadline to sign up for the next ACT on Sept. 8 - without paying a penalty! (Yikes!) But it's very important to take it often - so you can still sign up til this Friday, Sept. 24.
Don't miss one of the dates again! Print out a pdf of the schedule of the test dates, sign up deadlines, score dates, etc. at this link.

Comment by Vickie Apple on August 17, 2012 at 10:56pm The 1st ACT testing date of the season is Sept. 8 - and the deadline to sign up is today! (Actually tonight!) You have until next Saturday to sign up with a late fee. Just go to http://www.actstudent.org/regist/ - it just takes a few minutes!
Comment by Vickie Apple on August 4, 2012 at 10:30pm Hi, Jessica - If you have an idea where you might want to go to school, check to see if they prefer the ACT or SAT. Most schools will accept both - but a lot of times they will prefer one over the other. You can get all the information about dates & locations at their websites - for the ACT it's http://act.org/ and for the SAT it's http://www.collegeboard.org/. (Also, one hint, the ACT has Trigonometry on it - the SAT doesn't! So consider that if you have NOT had Trig yet!) I think it's a good idea to try to CLEP out of any of the basic courses you can! Save a lot of money. There are lots of good study sources on the web. AP, however, doesn't give you any college credit.

Comment by Vickie Apple on June 3, 2012 at 9:58pm Hey, Jessica - as it happens - I am a Registered Nurse! (I haven't worked since I had my kids though!) When I was in high school I took a lot of music classes & not many science classes. I loved it - I had a lot of fun - but I was definitely behind when I decided to major in nursing in college. It would be helpful if you took a really good Anatomy & Physiology class with lab. Check to see of you can take it as a concurrent course at a local college.
Comment by Jessica on June 3, 2012 at 7:36pm Hello, I'm interested in becoming a nurse after High School. Does anyone have any sugestion over which courses I should take, or anything that would help give me an advantage for college?
