Our purpose is to lead the home-centered education movement by equipping parents and students with the classical tools of learning needed to discover the order and beauty of God’s creation and to inspire others to do the same.
We believe parents are their children’s primary teachers not because parents know everything but because each child is uniquely (and wonderfully!) made and because the people who know and love a child best are the ones most motivated to help that child succeed.
We empower and support parents not only through our Classical Conversations Communities across the country but also through our specially designed CC Connected online community, Parent Practicums, and academic retreats. All of these services ultimately equip parents to educate their children with the classical tools of learning and a biblical worldview so that they might impact the world for God’s glory.

Classical Conversations has Free Parent Practicums each year in just about every state. A parent practicum is similar to a homeschool conference except it focuses on encouraging parents to pursue a classical education with a Biblical worldview. Each year parents not only get to learn about classical education but practice what they learn. Check out this video if you are interested in learning more about the Free Parent Practicums that are held each summer throughout the US: 2012 Practicum Video

Comment by Adriana Cunningham on June 3, 2012 at 8:29pm Yay, getting ready for our first ever practicum in Brownsville, TX. It starts this Thursday. Please pray for me (I am the foundations trainer and got sick yesterday. I am praying I will be 100% healthy for the practicum). Who all is planning (or has attended) a practicum this year?
Comment by Adriana Cunningham on May 15, 2012 at 3:59pm Hi Lorene,
Thanks for joining. Two years ago I was driving 1 hour to tutor a Foundations Class. CC is only 2 yrs old in the Rio Grande Valley of TX. Then after tutoring for 1 year, I became a director for our Brownsville community (a 7 min drive). Yay! Since I now had a new baby, a toddler and my 9 year old. We have a small community of 4 familes which I love dearly. I like it that it is small. I am not sure how I would handle a larger community right now. Hope to learn more from each other. Blessings!
Comment by Lorene M. Peetz on May 15, 2012 at 1:44pm Hi Adriana,
We have really enjoyed Classical Conversations. We have been involved to varying degrees, since 2006. This coming year will be our 3rd time through Cycle 1. Our older two will be doing Essentials in a program this year, while the younger two will work on Cycle 1 Foundations at home. How long have you been involved? Are you a director, tutor or participating mom?
Good to hear from you and thanks for the invitation to the group!
Lorene
