Hi All, It's been a while. Today I want to talk about prayer and how it helps with your herbal living. Many times we forgot to ask the Lord what we should use for our healing. There have been many times that I was stumped literally with an illness of one of my family members and couldn't figure it out.
People are always good for advice, but sometimes you just can't figure out why sound advice isn't working. The answer is simple. Sometimes God wants us to "talk it over" with Him first. It's easy to forget that. We have some many things at our disposal that we can often forget that that soft voice can give us the answer. But, because we know the solutions, he puts the breaks on the remedy.
The next time you have an ailment and the remedy doesn't work and it should, talk it over with Him and see if He's just trying to get your attention.

Terra youre on the right track! I hope you find lots of encouragement here!
Blessings, Dana
Comment by The Ciero Family on April 27, 2012 at 2:19pm Hi Terra,
I have been researching, studying, & putting into action as many natural ways as I can for several years now. Your doing the right thing by getting local milk, eggs, and organic products. Another thing I found to be very important on your health, is to eat fewer grains & meats and consume a lot more green leafy vegetables. Our bodies do not digest meats & grains very easily. One great way to improve your health is through daily green smoothies. Eating lettuces (Spinich, kale, ect..) in there regular form does not give us all the nutrients unless we chew them up ALOT. Since no one chews their food that well, the best way to make sure your getting all you can get is by grinding them in a blender with some fruit. I've started doing this about two weeks ago with my whole family. Already we can feel the difference. My family complained when I first started making them drink a daily smoothie, but I missed yesterday & they all (including my husband) were asking where their smoothies were. LOL A great book to read on the subject is "Green For Life", by Victoria Boutenko. Anyways, I hope some of this information will come in handy for you. We're all learning new things everyday & I love to share what I have learned. By the way, Nettle infusions are another great way of healing the body.
Comment by Terra Wiseman on April 27, 2012 at 12:30pm Not sure where to post this, but I'm new here and just wanted to introduce myself. I'm 36, extremely overweight, homeschool my two children, and hubby's on board with anything natural. We buy farm fresh eggs and milk and as much organic as possible. I've been learning about the food and medical industries for a couple of years now, but am finally beginning to makes the necessary changes in our lives to make us all healthier. We're also going to start getting our own local meat this summer.
But with all that I still feel like something is missing. I think it's homeopathy and herbal living that I need to make everything more well-rounded and I don't know where to start for any of it. I have limited experience and extremely limited resources and I just feel so lost as to what resources to trust. I really can't risk spending money on something unless I know for sure it's a good investment.

Comment by Len & Laura Smith on June 22, 2011 at 2:43pm Someone had asked about the Thyroid. There are some herbs that may help a low thyroid. Here are just a few: Kelp, Irish Moss, Parsley, Hops, Capsicum, Zinc and Manganese, Proline, Histidine, Watercress, Sarsaparilla, and Black Walnut.
There is a word of caution: if your thyroid is no longer functioning on it's own, these herbs will have little to no effect. Once the thyroid is no longer working, your medication has taken over.
